STARS, in collaboration with the University of Technology Mauritius (UTM) , the Rotary Club of Sodnac & ADVAITA have successfully launched an exciting sustainable project aimed at promoting biodiversity and environmental conservation. The event took place on the 11th of December 2024, in the endemic garden of UTM to plant our national tree the ‘Trochetia Boutoniana’ and to distribute endemic plants (BOIS CHAPELET, BOIS JUDAS, BOIS CAFE ,etc) to the UTM staff.
The founders of STARS, Sohail and Mohisha along with the team members are thrilled about this initiative, which not only enhances local ecosystems and supports wildlife but also raises awareness of the importance of preserving Mauritius’ natural heritage.
This project includes the development of an Augmented Reality (AR) mobile application that educates users about the rich biodiversity of endemic plants, providing detailed information to inspire sustainable choices. By engaging with communities and fostering collaborative sustainability practices, STARS is committed to driving positive change and creating a healthier, more resilient future for all.
